West Virginia University Health Science Center is currently accepting applications for a (Hybrid) Program Coordinator for the Department of Medicine/Infectious Diseases About the Opportunity This position will develop unique educational programs for specific medical disciplines as required by grant. Programs would include the layout of instructional design, identification of potential instructors, the presentation style of the implementation of programs, and the target audience. * Wellness programs What you'll do:
- Develops unique educational programs for specific medical disciplines as required by grant. Programs would include the layout of instructional design, identification of potential instructors, the presentation style of the implementation of programs, and the target audience. This would also include cost/benefit analysis of the training program and obtaining continuing education credits. Ensures all HIV educational are supportive of the vision, mission, and values of our funding agency. Implements approved educational programs by finalizing content, selecting best methodology for providing the program, scheduling of programs, program locations, and the marketing of programs. Provides information to health care agencies regarding technical assistance and consultation. Would be responsible for making sure that identified needs or requested services are fulfilled. Evaluates the effectiveness of educational programs, consultations, and technical assistance. Determine if modifications or changes need to be made to increase effectiveness.
- Prioritizes the needs of targeted health care professionals based on evaluations, technical assistance, and on-going agency needs assessments. Provide programs to meet those needs and complete accurate records of all programs in terms of site, type of program, content, level of program, and details of participants. This data is reported to the data evaluation team in Pittsburgh, PA.
- Serves as programs spokesperson and acts a consultant to interested health care professionals. Maintains collaboration and linkages with health care providers and agencies in order to meet the requirement of the grant. Participates in writing abstracts, which are encouraged by the AIDS Educational and Training Center.
- Conducts research of material for presentation at scientific meetings with the help of the Co-Principal Investigator
- Participates in the strategic planning and budget decision-making process for the grant. This includes setting goals and objectives, recommending budget expenditures, and developing strategies to meet the needs of the grant. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, agency and university policies, laws and/or regulations regarding sponsored program administration.
- Facilitates preparation of grant and contract proposals, including determining and communicating current requirements to the Co-Principal Investigator and assist in the preparation of forms and formatting, as necessary
- Supervises, monitors and evaluates employees in the program.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree, however any equivalent combination of education and/or experience, which provides an applicant with the listed knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job, is acceptable.
- RN Professional License
- Four (4) years of experience in teaching, grant preparation and/or grant management, experience in managing budgets and experience with supervision of employees.
- Knowledge of HIV/AIDS
- Ability to maintain and establish contacts to establish and maintain a comprehensive educational program.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to independently plan and organize
- Ability to prepare reports and documents for the data evaluation team in Pittsburgh, PA
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities for extended period of time
- Ability to plan and deliver a creative and professional presentation on issues related to HIV/AIDS to health care professionals
- Thorough knowledge of the English language to communicate accurately both verbally and in writing
- Ability to supervise employees to achieve successful implementation of program goals
- Exhibit strong, creative organizational and interpersonal skills in collaborating and communicating with health care professionals throughout the state
- Strong computer skills
- Thorough knowledge of the grant preparation process
- Ability to understand funding agency procedures and requirements related to grant application
