Clinical Lab Scientist, Per Diem - Microbiology

Description The Microbiology Lab is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Per Diem. In this key role, you will assist with a variety of technical procedures within the Bacteriology, Mycobacteriology, Mycology and Parasitology sections of the Brentwood Annex. Primary responsibilities include:
*Perform urine cultures, blood cultures, gram stains, fungal stains, BD Max PCR
*Troubleshoot laboratory instruments
*Reagent preparation
Note: this is a per diem position primarily assigned to work the weekend shift.
May convert to career.
Salary Range: $68.87-$68.87/hour

Qualifications *A current, California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License (CLS) or a Clinical Microbiology Scientist (CMS)
*Bachelor's degree
*Must have a minimum of at least two years of current technical and practical experience in bacteriology, mycology, mycobacteriology, and /or parasitology
*Strong educational background and advanced training in Microbiology
*Demonstrated working knowledge of current instrumentations: BD Bactec FX and bioMerieux Vitek 2 and MS systems, Centrifuges, Water Baths, Analytical Balance, Fume hood, Biological Safety Cabinet, Incubator
*Skilled in using a computer
