A reasonable estimated full-time rate for this position at 100% time is $64,329--$70,295. Percent appointments may vary. Application Window Open date: May 1, 2023 Most recent review date: Tuesday, Jun 6, 2023 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Sunday, Mar 31, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Department of French and Italian at UC Santa Barbara invites applications for possible Lecturer positions (part-time or full-time) should vacancies appear. Appointments will vary in percentage of time and will range from one quarter to one year, and from one course up to a maximum of eight courses a year, with the limited possibility of reappointment dependent on performance, departmental need, and funding. The Program is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service. The use of a lecturer pool does not guarantee that an open position exists at the time you are applying. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship. Also, please note that the Department cannot reimburse travel or moving expenses for interviewing or relocating to our campus and that benefits such as health insurance may only be allocated to full-time employees. Qualifications Basic qualifications

Applicant must possess a minimum of a Master's degree or equivalent foreign degree in French, Applied Linguistics, or a related field and have two years of experience teaching French in a college or university at the time of application. Additional qualifications
(required at time of start)
Native-level proficiency in French is required. Preferred qualifications
Experience in Communicative Language Teaching, Direct Method, and Form-Focused grammar instruction is preferable. Experience teaching upper-division language and literature courses, French for Heritage Speakers, and French for speakers of Spanish is also desirable. Application Requirements Document requirements
