Overview Levine Children's Emergency Department is a fast paced, high acuity, level one trauma center caring for children from birth to 18 years. We are one of the largest Children's Hospitals in the Southeast and have children coming to us from all over the area for our in-house specialists. Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital (LCH) has taken the community to another level of service in order to provide care for the growing population of children in our region. At 247 beds, LCH is the largest children's hospital between Atlanta and Washington DC. It serves high patient acuity as the flagship children's hospital within the innovative Atrium Health and offers a full complement of over 125 pediatric subspecialists in over 25 different pediatric specialties. There are 4 pediatric hospitalist teams, a 20-bed PICU (including Cardiac ICU), an 85-bed NICU, and an inpatient pediatric rehabilitation facility. Levine Children's also has the region's first 24/7 emergency room just for kids, staffed by doctors trained in pediatric emergency medicine. LCH has repeatedly been ranked among the "Best Children's Hospitals" in the nation by US News & World Report. Job Summary The paramedic collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team to provide care as appropriate to the population served and in compliance with standards of practice. The paramedic will provide care to patients under the supervision of the Provider. The Emergency Department Medical Director will provide oversight for Paramedic clinical practice. Essential Functions
Physical Requirements Education, Experience and Certifications Successful completion of a Paramedic Training Program (OEMS approved) required. Current North Carolina Paramedic Certification required (National registry preferred). Certification in BLS required on hire. Completion of CPI course required within 30 days of hire. Certification in ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire. Affiliation with an EMS agency is required to maintain National Registry Paramedic certification. North Carolina state certified paramedics will follow state mandated education requirements for initial and ongoing certification which do not require EMS agency affiliation. Six months' experience in a pre-hospital environment as a Paramedic preferred. |
