Scholar Relations Lead

The Scholar Relations Lead is responsible for the overall customer experience and responds to any escalated situations. Their responsibilities include ensuring all students' needs are being met, addressing any behavioral/mental health situations, documenting all customer interactions, providing coaching to staff to address individual student needs, and managing staff and vendor working hours. The Scholar Relations Lead manages the Program Office Assistant and Scholar RelationsTeam. The Scholar Relations Lead collaborates with the leadership team to ensure the success of the program and thattheEnvisionby WorldStrides values of BeRespectful, Be Responsible, Be Engaged and Be Safe aremodeled and followed throughout the total program experience. The Scholar Relations Lead reports to the Program Manager.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Service and Student Oversight



  • Address students with emotional, behavioral, physical and other personal concerns in a professional and customer service driven manner, communicating with parents and families as needed (when necessary in conjunction with another senior leader)
  • Ensure appropriate implementation of accommodations for scholars with special needs (if applicable)
  • Handle all escalated student and family's situations or complaints
  • Ensure accountability is maintained at all events onsite and offsite
  • Provide coaching to all staff to best support students on an individual basis
  • Carry all required crisis emergency materials
  • Follow Envision policies and procedures
  • Always ensure student safety



Logistical/Venue Oversight



  • Support with daily program operations
  • Serve as a secondary point of contact for all onsite logistics (housing, dining, audio visual coordination, etc.)
  • Liaise with Program Manager in relation to any decisions with budgetary implications



Business Administration



  • Assist with leading training segments for members of seasonal teams
  • Monitor all tracking of customer communication and complete all needed documentation
  • Ensure all needs for special guests are met (i.e. parking passes, audio visual)
  • Oversee and brief night Scholar Relations Team
  • Oversee the daily submission of program photos and slideshows
  • Maintain emergency telephone number and 24-hour availability at all times while program is in session
  • Meet with senior leadership team daily and provide notes to Manager in conjunction with Education Lead and Scholar Relations Lead, if applicable
  • Meet with Co-Leads Daily to complete Nightly Report



Financial Management



  • Utilize and reconcile credit cards according to company policy (if applicable)
  • Oversee and approve all staff hours and ensure they align with the program budget



Staff Management



  • Supervise Scholar Relations Team and possibly the Program Office Assistant
  • Facilitate daily meetings with Scholar Relations Team and Program Office Assistant
  • Observe staff and provide feedback at regular intervals
  • Assist with leading training segments for members of seasonal teams



Health & Safety Responsibilities



  • Clean and sanitize equipment and spaces
  • Perform temperature checks
  • Be around large groups
  • Wear a face mask and any other PPE as required while performing all duties throughout your assigned workday
  • Model best practices for staying healthy throughout the program
  • Enforce health and safety guidelines among scholars and staff
  • Responsibilities and requirements for this role may adapt and adjust with any new Local/State/Federal/Venue guidelines as well as recommendations and requirements from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for General Health & Safety. If there are any changes to the responsibilities or requirements of this position, you will be informed prior to your start date.



Qualifications



  • Bachelor's level education; Master's or higher (preferred)
  • Previous experience working with the age group of the program (elementary, middle school, or high school students) (desired)
  • Experience in counseling, social work, or psychology (preferred)
  • Strong logistical and organization skills
  • Must be able to bend and lift boxes up to 50 lbs. in addition to walking various distances on college campuses
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and solve problems
  • Maturity and professionalism
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to set expectations for and enforce appropriate student behavior
  • Able to work efficiently in a team environment
  • Previous experience with Envision (preferred)

Successful Candidates



  • Are high energy, flexible, and able to work extended days and hours
  • Reside at the program site
  • Can complete a mandatory training program prior to working first session

  • Are eligible to work in the United States


** Envision by WorldStrides' programs are held on college campuses and at conference centers across the United States. Positions could be based at any program location. The approximate start date in 2022 is June 15th **


Field
