Position overview Position title: Lecturer, Costume Design Salary range: See Table 15 (https://ap.ucsb.edu/compensation.and.benefits/ucsb.salary.scales/15.pdf) for the salary range for this position. The actual appointment percentage is variable, derived from an estimated full-time (100%) annual salary range of $66,259 - $70,295. Percent time: Appointment positions are variable in terms of percentage of time. Anticipated start: January 1, 2024 Position duration: Winter and Spring quarters with the possibility of reappointment dependent upon performance and departmental needs. Position description The Department of Theater and Dance invites applications for a teaching position in Costume Design, with the possibility of costume design work for departmental productions. Instruction will be during Winter 2024 and Spring 2024, with the possibility of reappointment dependent upon departmental need and performance. Work will be in person on the UCSB campus; compensation will not include travel and housing expenses. Salary is based on UC's salary scales and depends on qualifications. Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application) MFA in Costume Design or BA/BFA in Theater plus three (3) years of professional costume design experience at time of application. Preferred qualifications Teaching experience at the college/university level. Costume design experience for dance is a plus.
