Position Summary:
The Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences aims for excellence in research and education. The ICS Computing Support Team team manages ICS computing. Team members' work is assigned via helpdesk and project tickets. The team resolves over 1000 tickets per year from ICS employees and students. The ICS Computing Support Team manages research, instructional, administrative and critical IT infrastructure which includes, among other things, web services, dozens of wordpress sites, over a petabyte of storage, and ICS email. The incumbent will work on moderately sized projects and project tickets under the direction of senior computing support staff. They will provide support to end users by responding to and resolving computing support helpdesk tickets that are sent to the system operations team. They will work to automate repetitive tasks or provide documentation for tasks that cannot be automated. They will prioritize and assign incoming service and helpdesk requests increasing the ability for the team to respond to time critical requests. They will improve the system operations group's overall timeliness in processing helpdesk tickets. They will provide end user training and internal documentation.
