Position Title: Director,Operational Excellence

Location: Bothell, WA

Reporting to: VP, Global Operations

Travel Required: 25%

Role Overview:

The Director of Operational Excellence is to lead the design, implementation, and execution of management systems, aligned with the Genie Operating System, to effectively and efficiently manage both long term strategic initiatives and annual operating plans within the Global Operations function. The Director of Operational Excellence will also be responsible for, in coordination with the Genie Continuous Improvement Office, standardizing and facilitating the leadership of continuous improvement activities within the Genie Global Operations team in both manufacturing and administrative environments.

Facilitation of the development and implementation of the strategy to advance Genie manufacturing technologies, integrating industry leading applications of automation and digitization will be a key element of the scope of the Director of Operational Excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the Operations leadership team to establish the long term vision and strategy for Operations.
  • Responsible for the design, maintenance, and execution of the Operations Management System.
  • Leads functional assessment and identification of opportunities for improvement in accordance with the Genie Operating System.
  • Lead the standardization of visual management of execution management and status of global, function-level strategic initiatives.
  • Lead and ensure active collaboration within the Operations function to align resources and activities with company priorities.
  • Lead and ensure active collaboration cross functionally with Finance, Human Resources, IT, Engineering, Product Management, Service, and Sales global teams.
  • Drive best practices and standardization across all areas of Operations.
  • Ensure all goals, objectives, metrics, and projects are aligned and purposeful in nature to support business requirements and ongoing efficient operations
  • Create and deliver clear and value-added reporting to the Global VP of Operations, clearly demonstrating to support monthly, quarterly and annual reporting
  • Demonstrate a full understanding of all departmental interactions, taking responsibility and accountability through strong leadership

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business preferred
  • MBA or other related advanced degree preferred

Requirements:

  • Approximately 25% of the time will be spent travelling to the manufacturing sites based in the US, Mexico, Italy, China, and India.
  • A strong background in engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and lean is required
  • Previous experience of multi-site operations.
  • 10 years of relevant experience in sourcing, engineering and/or lean manufacturing, progressing into roles with increasing responsibility.
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate the Terex Way values
  • Track record of effective leadership in both strategic and tactical decision making
  • Experience in successfully managing and leading multi-functional, geographically diverse teams both directly and via matrix management
  • Demonstrated communication and collaboration skills with the ability to develop relationships across levels, geographies and segments; able to communicate with Team Members on the shop floor and at the corporate executive level.

Salary: The compensation for this position is $160 - $215k. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
