POSITION SUMMARY

The Market Director, Physician and Provider Relations and Outreach (PPRO) serves in a strategic leadership role to build and grow the Ardent Health Physician and Provider Relations and Outreach department. The Physician and Provider Relations and Outreach (PPRO) Market Director serves as an extension of the local market executive leadership teams as well as the corporate PPRO executive leadership team.

This role will support the development of the PPRO department and lead team growth execution strategies at the market level. This strategic partner and market leader will align with multiple market and global growth strategies to build and lead a multi-market PPRO team that will drive market share growth, identify market opportunities, and give physician voice to strategic initiatives.

This role will manage multiple market PPRO team directors to ensure each director has effective strategic growth plans to drive market share growth and increase physician engagement.

As a strategic partner, this market director will align and cultivate relationships with operations, service line, and clinical market and hospital leadership, as well as market physicians and providers.

The role will communicate closely with market, hospital, physician medical group and service line leadership.

This seasoned executive leader will demonstrate effective sales leadership through successful strategic alignment and integration strategies with internal and external stakeholders, to communicate corporate direction, as well as inform strategy.

The PPRO Market Director will be responsible to set sales agenda to drive profitable business leveraged by the development of a high- performance talent management strategy to develop, empower, inspire, and attract top talent.

The PPRO Market Director, will report directly to the Ardent Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Physician and Provider Relations and Outreach (PPRO). The PPRO Market Director will be a significant contributor to the achievement of Ardent Health's annual growth objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic priorities while leading efficient department operations
  • Establish optimal organizational structure to align with enterprise growth and financial expectations
  • Serve as a collaborative strategic partner with operational leadership to successfully align, inform, and support corporate and market growth objectives
  • Support to guide market comprehensive growth strategic plan, within the scope of the changing health care environment
  • Support and communicate a shared and coordinated vision for growth between PPRO (sales) and operations
  • Coordinate PPRO (sales) efforts that support the outlined growth goals and initiatives
  • Continually evaluate and measure the effectiveness of the PPRO (sales) performance by facility in market against constraints and changes, revising the PPRO growth strategy as appropriate
  • Identify and implement market stakeholder alignment through process improvement and governance opportunities to accelerate growth and lead PPRO (sales) team
  • Ensure clearly defined performance metrics are achieved by each PPRO (sales) team director to drive a highly accountable culture
  • Execute effectively towards the corporate PPRO (sales) talent management strategy by establishing performance development plans for each PPRO (sales) director
  • Build high performing market PPRO (sales) team by recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent
  • Continually assess new markets and opportunities to create strategic partnerships throughout the service area
  • Align successfully with key service line leaders to ensure service line plans are executed and goals are achieved
  • Align with market Chief Medical Officer and market operations leadership to create and implement physician engagement strategy
  • Create a process for reporting to inform and measure barriers to business while trending market opportunities
  • Align with enterprise data and analytics leadership teams to measure PPRO (sales) execution, analyze market share opportunity and system optimization
  • Partner with market marketing teams to elevate physician messaging in alignment with consumer communication strategies and the Ardent brand strategies
  • Bring solutions to complex issues through experienced problem solving
  • Communicate and interact with leadership and business partners in a way that demonstrates our commitment to service
  • Manage and meet budget for assigned areas
  • Mentor, coach, develop PPRO (sales) directors to accomplish strategic growth and professional development goals
  • Develop policies, process, strategies and goals that support PPRO (sales) department and corporate direction and operational efficiency
  • Must travel regularly to assigned multiple markets to support PPRO (sales) team to provided necessary training and coaching, while fostering strong relationships with market and hospital leadership, clinics, and providers

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's in business administration or healthcare administration preferred.
  • 5+ years of sales executive leadership experience in healthcare field required
  • 3+ years of hospital and healthcare experience required
  • Demonstrated success and experience in fostering strategic C-Suite and Senior level partnerships
  • Demonstrated experience in market share

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated success in executive communication and time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated success in building and leading high performance sales teams to drive results
  • Strong Strategic and Business Acumen leadership competencies required
  • Ability to generate, analyze, and communicate data from reporting
  • Ability to analyze market trends and project changing needs to inform growth strategies
  • Skilled in development and training workshops
  • Ability to work as a strategic team player
  • Ability to demonstrate tact, resourcefulness and commitment to the role
  • Accepts feedback and direction and is accountable
  • Welcomes and manages change effectively, and performs well in fast paced environment
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office software with emphasis in Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge and experience in using CRM systems preferred
