Senior Plant Manager - Gulf Plants

Veolia WTS ES Services serves its customers using two facilities located in the Houston area: Baytown and Pasadena. This role covers the activities of both plants (production, maintenance and local logistics) and represents a strategic role in the South Region as well as at the North America (NAM) level. The Gulf Plants Manager will be tasked to continue the integration of the two legacy activities while managing ongoing renovation projects, developing the teams and bringing the Gulf Service Centers to the next level of excellence while maintaining our level of service to current and future customers. This position reports directly to the NAM South General Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Gulf Plants Manager demonstrates accountability for functional, business and broad company objectives. In this role, she/he will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy. The Gulf Plants Manager is the visible and active leader of the Gulf Service Centers (facilities and drivers), promoting a favorable and productive environment for all employees.

In addition, she/he will:




  • EHS:




    • Promotes a working environment to achieve excellence in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), quality, productivity and customer service



    • Ensures the facilities are meeting all regulatory and non-regulatory compliance obligations including, but not limited to, wastewater permit, occupancy permit/business license and fleet compliance



    • Supports Operations Managers in maintaining and developing procedures, documents necessary to maintain the ISO Quality systems and certifications, in collaboration with the Quality team





  • People management:




    • Defines the Service Center's needs for future resources, ensuring the right allocation of resources vs. the activity, the agility of the workforce, the development of talents and potentials



    • Ensures all manufacturing / production support functions at facility are staffed and well trained to perform their duties effectively



    • Supports Operations Managers in leading all production and maintenance employee relations matters working closely with HR, communicates actively, listens openly, and is highly flexible





  • Leadership:




    • Owns the design, development and execution of the strategic vision for the Gulf Services Centers (diversification, flexibility, automation, digitalization, etc.)



    • Drives growth and change in a fast-moving, high-energy environment



    • Drives the team through low and high activity periods





  • Operations management:




    • Manages Delivery Specialists and drives DOT compliance



    • Coordinates Service Center Production activity with Logistics & Technical Service teams ensuring timely delivery of equipment that meets/exceeds specifications





  • Continuous improvement:




    • Owns the costs of the service centers (resin regeneration, membranes and special applications)



    • Owns the synergies between the two facilities (people, load, materials, logistics, etc.)



    • Supports the Operations Managers in managing the Service Centers within operating budget



    • Promotes the use of six-sigma / lean / kaizen methodologies in driving plants quality improvements






Education & Experience

Required:




  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university



  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in leading teams in production or fulfillment operations

  • Proficiency in SAP / Proven ability to learn SAP (nice to have)

  • Bilingual English-Spanish (nice to have)



  • Strong knowledge of the disciplines of manufacturing management such as production and inventory control, variable cost productivity, and fulfillment metrics, quality systems, cost systems, and fulfillment metrics, and procedures



  • Knowledge of project management



  • Expert knowledge of water treatment technologies and services (nice to have)
