Accountabilities Conduct thorough analysis and make informed decisions on job details and emergencies Maintain and account for tools, equipment, and assigned vehicles Complete daily job safety inspection sheets and accurately read meters Perform leak repairs, mains maintenance, fire hydrant management, new service installations, meter changes, and service repairs Keep the direct Supervisor informed of field customer service issues and needs Utilize PC tablets for field service applications and process service orders efficiently Operate hand and power tools, as well as mechanical equipment, during various tasks such as installing, operating, and repairing mains, services, meters, valves, and fire hydrants Assist in shutdowns, repairs, disinfection, and restoration of water service to customers Oversee and direct contractors as needed Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Minimum of 2 years of related experience and knowledge of basic construction, maintenance methods, meter reading, and/or procedures in a water utility TCEQ Class D Operator License in specific area of concentration; i.e., Wastewater or Basic Water Operations,or a Class I Collections or ability to acquire within one year from date of hire Validdriver's license with a clean driving record Basic computer skills, including PC Windows operations knowledge, and experience with communication devices Ability to work independently and responsibly with minimal supervision and function in a team environment Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing, with internal and external customers Willingness to travel occasionally CPR and First Aid training What We Offer As a valued member of our team, you will enjoy competitive pay that reflects your skills and experience.
