Updated: May 23, 2024 Job Description: UC Title: CLIN NURSE 2 Position Number: 41060475 Reports to: Ambulatory Care Patient Mgr 1 Working Title: Clinical Nurse II Cost Center: ACC - Infusion Center (427295) Bargaining Unit: CNA FLSA: Nonexempt Date Created: 1/24/2024 Job Code: 009139 Hours: 40 Shift: Not Applicable FTE: 1 Position Summary: Incumbent provides patient care to an assigned group of patients in the Infusion Center. The nurse incorporates the psycho-motor and age appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other utilizing knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation. Assists in patient research and reviews patient schedules against available protocols. Acts as a role model to students and Clinical Nurse's new to the unit. Functions as a (PCC)Patient Care Coordinator as requested by the supervisor/manager. Salary Range: Hourly Rate Minimum $59.93 Midpoint $71.10 Maximum $82.27 Required Qualifications: Minimum of six months demonstrated nursing experience Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Current California RN license Demonstrated knowledge and practice of infection control techniques Knowledge and practice of body mechanics Current chemotheropy/biotherapy card required within 3 months of hire One year of Oncology experience or one year of MedSurg experience and completion of OCN Cancer Basics class Ability to work effectively with colleagues, physicians and others as part of a care team Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties Current BLS certification Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families Oncology Certification Understanding of JCAHO requirements Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms Conditions of Employment: The University of California, Irvine (UCI) seeks to provide a safe and healthy environment for the entire UCI community.
