General Information:

James Madison University's Facilities Management is accepting applications for an Environmental Services Administrative Assistant. Shift is Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., with overtime as required for inclement weather. There is a slightly alternate schedule during the summer months.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Responsible for performing tasks related to recruitment, hiring, transfer, and separation within the Environmental Services department.
* Acts as the administrative assistant to the Environmental Services Operation Manager.
* Develops and maintains computerized spreadsheets specific to Environmental Services.
* Handles clerical responsibilities associated with administering the Bloodborne Pathogen Program.
* Assists with daily tasks such as time entry, supply orders, and work order entry in the AiM (work management system), ensuring timely time entry for all housekeeping employees.
* Serves as the primary point of contact for the Recycling Department.
* Collaborates with the manager on various projects, including data management and project coordination.
* Provides effective leadership and supervision to the office assistant.

Qualifications:

* Basic knowledge of recruitment processes and principles.
* Basic understanding of OSHA laws as they relate to blood-borne pathogens and hazardous waste.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as data entry.
* Strong customer service skills.
* Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
