ABOUT THIS ROLE
St. Michael's is hiring an Audit Remediation Analyst to support an Intelligence Community (IC) client. As the Audit Remediation Analyst, you will serve as a key contributor to help our client navigate appropriate responses to external auditors. You will be in a client-facing role that will benefit from your previous audit readiness experience and expertise. Our core value of Excellence in Reputation will be paramount to this role as you will be advising our client and fellow teammates on audit remediation strategies.

LOCATION
Springfield, VA (100% On-Site)

WHO YOU ARE
  • 8 or more years of total experience.
  • 6 or more years of specialized experience in Department of Defense (DoD) or the IC supporting audit and/or audit readiness/remediation
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent work experience. Academic degrees may be substituted for years of experience, and years of experience may be substituted for academic degrees based on the following:
    • 2 years of school = 1 year of experience.
    • 2 years of experience = 1 year of school.
  • Active TS Clearance (with ability to obtain SCI eligibility and Counterintelligence Polygraph).

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Analyzing Notices of Findings and Recommendations (NFRs) issued by the external auditor and developing recommendations and milestones for Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), based on the five financial statement assertions
  • Applying your experience and knowledge of audit to execute reassertion processes to assist the client with achieving an unmodified audit opinion
  • Assessing data sets necessary to address the NFRs and CAPs
  • Applying your knowledge of asset management (acquisition, administration, disposal) and analyzing data from the general ledger, contracts, commitment documents, and other key supporting documents to develop accounting recommendations
  • Interpreting DoD guidance related to property (PP&E, IUS, Real Property)
  • Applying critical thinking skills to develop conclusions
  • Developing or updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or process narratives and flowcharts
  • Engaging in both written and verbal communications with Government POCs, across all levels of the organization
