We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a FREIDA Director on our Medical Education team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 2 days a week in the office.

FREIDA stands for: AMA Fellowship and Residency Interactive Electronic Database Access.

As a MED
ED - FREIDA Director, you will oversee the collection, aggregation, and analysis of data of the
upgraded FREIDA platform. Manage
internal/external relationships between other AMA Business Units to ensure the efficiency
of ongoing content development and strategy.
Apply quality control measures to all data collected to maintain the
highest level of data integrity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

FREIDA Program Management

  • Oversee day to day operation, production, and data management of FREIDA.
  • Ensure FREIDA functionality, including data collection, data aggregation & entry, data cleaning & accuracy, and user access.
  • Enhance user experience in response to new platforms, community feedback, and novel sources of data.
  • Manage relationships with GME program directors, contact personnel, and DIOs (Designated Institutional Officials) to ensure data accuracy and a comprehensive response to the GME Census.
  • Manage contribution to revenue for GME Programs as needed.
  • Provide data and internal/external reports to support medical education research, evaluation, and policy development.
  • Oversee and foster relationships with collaborating partners (e.g., AAMC, NRMP, ACGME) to collect and share data, including the National GME Census that provides data to FREIDA and the AMA Physician Professional Data.
  • Collaborate with Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) to conduct annual National GME Census Program Survey housed in GMETrack. Contribute to GMETrack survey instrument development and enhancements by performing UAT and providing feedback as needed.
  • Partner with MMX to specifically improve the product value, marketability and visibility for FREIDA
  • Work with VP, GME Innovations to plan upgrades, platform modifications, and revenue streams to support FREIDA.
  • Evaluate impacts on AMA business cases for FREIDA.

Data Strategy and Content Development

  • Establish strategic direction and manage FREIDA product to optimize impact in alignment with overall Medical Education goals and objectives.
  • Oversee FREIDA development and updates, with particular attention to medical education community needs.
  • Develop strategy for collection, analysis, and publication of data to support ChangeMedEd innovation initiatives.
  • Work with HS to standardize and streamline data flow in and out of FREIDA and its partner MERI database.
  • Partner with MMX, HS, IT, and EdHub over AMA Medical Education data strategy. Provide insight and education for use with the development of any data integration models or initiatives.
  • Statistically analyze and write workforce and other statistical reports using GME data.
  • Negotiate and prepare licensing agreements for use of GME data.
  • Seek new/alternative sources of data to enhance FREIDA and meet community need for data and analytics and predictive modeling.
  • Review current data provided on FREIDA as it relates to questions found in the GME Census Program Survey. Make recommendations for new and improved questions/elements while streamlining and reducing unnecessary data points.

Relationship Management/Professional Development

  • Provide leadership and direction to those involved in management of FREIDA and other relevant databases as applicable.
  • Liaison with ACGME to remain abreast of specialty, program, and accredited requirement updates, and ensure representation on Review Committees as appropriate.
  • Work with internal partners to achieve HOD-driven objectives and address or provide insight to any new initiatives.

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree (Masters, PhD) a plus.
  2. A minimum 10 years' experience in work related to medical education and experience in product development, marketing, as well as statistical and predictive modeling.
  3. Understanding of database structure and management, and ability to uncover relationships and trends in data.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients.
  5. Excellent planning, time management, and prioritization skills, ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects.
  6. Must have project management experience with ability to prioritize tasks so that project deadlines are met.
  7. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients.
  8. Proven ability to lead multi-departmental groups and internal and external organizations.
  9. Ability to analyze and provide solutions to develop and improve processes.
  10. Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, including ability to quickly identify key issues/root causes and to proactively synthesize that information to clear, actionable improvements and or/ recommendations.
