Research Program Assistant

As we are expanding with the reach of our program, The Violet Project, we are looking to add an excellent self-motivated, goal-oriented, organized, team player to add to the team as a Research Program Assistant. Selected applicant will be hired for a casual position (as needed) in the GYN Specialties Division of the Department Gynecology and Obstetrics. The hired person will report directly to Saumya Sao. The project focuses on improving youth access to sexual and reproductive healthcare and education. The range of duties includes, but is not limited to, fulfilling orders of STI test kits and period products, donating products to local organizations, assisting with research data collection, and supervising volunteers. The candidate should have strong organizational skills and be able to communicate effectively and efficiently.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Fill STI test kit and other orders on a weekly basis.
  • Organize and execute donation drops to local organizations on a weekly basis.
  • Volunteer at events and supervise other volunteers as needed.
  • Assist with contacting research participants and recruiting research participants.

Special Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Must maintain current required research certifications during duration of employment.
  • Completion of the JHH required training prior to start date.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to perform his/her role as it pertains to women reproductive health research.
  • Able to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Must achieve and maintain a working knowledge of computer software specific to department, including Microsoft Word and Excel, e-mail, and internet functions.


Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.
  • Some related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
  • One (1) year of experience with youth or community-oriented work.

Starting Salary Range: $15.00 - $23.00 HRLY ($15.00 HRLY targeted; Commensurate with experience)
