Sr. Research Program Coodinator

We are seeking a Sr. Research Program Coordinator to work closely with Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) Implementation Science leadership housed within the Department of Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. They will be responsible for supporting new funding initiatives, contributions to implementation research related metascience endeavors, engagement in systematic reviews, quantitative and qualitative analysis of ongoing HIV implementation science research activities, and dissemination (including preparation of slides to present to collaborators/stakeholders and participation or leadership of publications). The work focuses on using the scientific tools to improve the implementation of HIV related evidence based interventions. The ideal candidate will have an interest in supporting development of methods and tools to advance HIV and implementation science to End the HIV Epidemic in the U.S. and will have an interest in leading analyses and publications as part of their career development trajectory. The position will also support the establishment of Implementation Research activities across the University.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the organization and coordination of implementation science support for Ending the Epidemic Implementation Science awardees to ensure timely and competent scientific guidance.
  • Maintain clear communication and reporting practices with the HIV Implementation Science Coordination Initiative (ISCI)
  • Assist with the coordination of a national Implementation Science and HIV Fellowship
  • Collaboratively develop study instruments and assist with coordination for a study identifying barriers and facilitators to implementation of molecular surveillance data integration into AIDSVu
  • Assist with other HIV related implementation science study coordination as necessary.
  • Work with partners to ensure that invoices, contractual processes are appropriate.
  • Support documentation for reimbursement of expenses with partners.
  • Oversee documentation process related to the study including maintaining files inclusive of grants, concepts, publications, investigator meeting minutes, and correspondence.
  • Perform periodic updates of project status including tracking of ongoing analyses or data requests.
  • Assist in maintaining IRB and regulatory compliance.
  • Use software applications such as spreadsheets, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble and format study reports.
  • Assist in preparing grant applications and progress reports, coordinating electronic grant submission, including working with financial analyst to preparing draft budgets.
  • Assist with manuscript preparation including performing literature reviews, citation management, preparing figures, and online submission.
  • Preparation and formatting of slides/ posters for scientific presentations
  • Maintain office / investigator calendar to coordinate workflow and meetings.
  • Set up and coordinate meetings and conferences.
  • Perform general clerical duties to include, but not limited to, copying, faxing, mailing and filing.
  • Other responsibilities as required


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
  • Three years related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in R and RStudio, STATA or SAS.
  • Familiarity with qualitative coding and software a plus.
  • Formal coursework in implementation science and experience in analyzing Implementation.
  • Science data, both qualitative and quantitative.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate findings in meetings.
  • Prior collaborative research experience a plus.
  • Experience in database software and data management.

Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Experience/knowledge of implementation science frameworks, strategies, and approaches.
  • Experience in meta research and systematic reviews preferred.
  • Experience working with HIV/AIDS implementation programs and/or program evaluation and
  • data management.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills, including timely responsiveness to
  • communications in person and by email.
  • Demonstrated self-management with the ability to work on multiple tasks with short and/or
  • competing deadlines.

Technical Qualifications or Specialized Certifications

  • Coursework and/or direct experience in implementation science
  • Technical knowledge related to HIV preferred.

Role/Level/Range: ACRP/03/MB
Starting Salary Range: $40,900 - $71,600 Annually (Commensurate with experience)
