The Head of US Operations, leads a high functioning team that is responsible for the design and delivery of a modern, agile and streamlined operational process that enables GPJ to be the world’s leading experiential agency. The goal of operations at GPJ is to enable our business. This role will report into the Chief Operating Office (COO).
This role will be responsible for driving excellence within and tying together US Agency Operations & US Account Operations:
- Agency Operations: The business of being in business. The day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the company. Including business’ internal affairs, sustainability initiatives, adhering to annual business plans, change management, structure, data privacy systems, tools, processes policies, procurement and diversity of suppliers.
- Account Operations: Seamlessly integrating GPJ’s clients into existing tools, systems and processes. Manage back office operational aspects of client program delivery including the financial and operational performance of all projects. Client / account specific solution development, process management, estimating and budgeting, managing account margins, rate cards, adherence to all GPJ financial and operational processes and standards, communicating program risks, compliance with GPJ and client contract requirements and policy governance.
- This role will also partner closely with Global Account and Agency Operational leadership to drive deep connectivity and consistency across GPJ’s geographies.
As part of the US leadership team, they will be charged with collaborating with US Practice, Finance and Account leadership to ensure that Agency and Account Operations are designed to facilitate and drive GPJ’s business effectively and to ensure consistency of processes, tools and systems.

Responsibilities:
- Provide Account and Agency Operational leadership within US Leadership team to ensure that GPJ delivers against its annual and 5 year business plans
- Directly manage teams responsible for US Account Operations and Agency Operations
- Partner and advise Practice, Financial and Account leadership
- OneGPJ: Deliver against the OneGPJ vision of seamless collaboration across all operations, practices and other Project Worldwide Agencies
- Executive Sponsor: For select strategic accounts act as an active Executive Sponsor, building relationships with senior clients, mentor GPJ account leadership and participate in key high leverage meetings and opportunities
- Business Planning: Participate in a holistic annual business planning process and lead from a US Operations perspective. Once approved, manage and report on progress against to agency leadership
- Process Design:
- Drive key stakeholder alignment on business requirements for operational process by gathering, documenting and analyzing needs across the organization
- Analyze and document operational processes and workflows
- Act as a bridge between business stakeholders, practices area leads, clients stakeholders, finance and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding of needs, proposed solutions
- Ensure agency Operations process consistency and clarity; lead the design and documentation of agency-wide core project lifecycle processes, methodologies, standards, templates and tools (including any tailoring/scaling of approaches based on project size, scope, complexity)
- Partner closely with US practice area leads and agency leadership to identify, recommend, implement and optimize best in class processes and tools
- Partner with Global Experience Technology Practice and Project IT to ensure that GPJ is utilizing and optimizing best in class technology solutions
- Adoption:
- Drive adoption of consistent processes, practices and tools. Ensure robust change management practices are utilized to build commitment and sustainable behavior change
- Partner with global operations and Americas agency leadership to drive consistency and collaboration across GPJ geographies
- Ongoing Process Adherence:
- Lead the definition and execution of related activities to assess and increase project team adherence to / quality execution of critical business process steps in the US
- Partner with Project Finance to understand, evolve and enforce financial policy and procedures
- Partner with US Sustainability Lead and Global Green Team to ensure agency is adopting recommended programing while being an advocate for a sustainable GPJ
- Manage GPJ’s Procurement process and approach, including supplier diversity and sustainability

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Operations, management, or a related field and 15+ years of professional experience.
- Strong understanding of business operations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of and experience in designing and delivering large scale integrated experiences.
- Experience in these key areas is preferred: Experiential Marketing, Live Event Production, Marketing, Digital Marketing and/or Advertising.
- Proven track record of successful client management skills.
Location: LA, SF, NY, Boston, Nashville (Smyrna), Las Vegas, or Detroit (Auburn Hills). Candidates must be able to work in one of these office locations 2-3 days/week.
Salary Range: $175k - $200k Salary is dependent on a variety of factors including (but not limited to) experience, skills, and location.
