esp Athens Program Manager

Summary: The esp Athens Program Manager is responsible for comprehensive program management and oversight, ensuring the quality and safety of all programs including 360, Camp, and Family Support. They develop and maintain partnerships, innovate new program opportunities, and serve as the voice of esp families and programs in the Athens community. Additionally, the Program Manager leads and guides a team of coordinators, oversees team leadership and development, manages the annual program budget, and plans and evaluates programs. This role requires strong leadership, team management, financial acumen, program planning skills, and community engagement abilities to drive the success of esp Athens' programs.

 

Responsibilities

  • Program Management and Oversight

    • Lead the overall quality and safety of all Athens programs: 360, Camp, and Family Support

    • Ensure quality experiences for esp Athens families.

    • Develop and maintain partnerships with community programs to support Athens Programs.

    • Lead Hooray Summer Camp programs as Camp Manager, facilitating camp planning and ensuring alignment with quality standards for camp. 

    • Monitor program safety and ensure the proper training of year-round interns and program assistants. 

    • Manage all safety incidents, communication, response and continual learning to ensure a safe space for our program participants. 

    • Lead and innovate new program opportunities, including creating and implementing the framework for esp Athens’ new program site at the Athens Square Mall. 

  • Team Leadership and Development

    • Manage three direct reports: Hooray Camps Coordinator, 360 Coordinator, and Family Support Coordinator

    • Lead and guide program team members, including weekly team meetings, 1:1 meetings, quarterly & annual reviews, and staff development.

    • Maintain accountability to a healthy team culture across program interns and volunteers.

    • Motivate, develop, and guide team members to achieve program goals and engage in ongoing professional development.

    • Foster a culture of learning, excellence, and inclusivity among team members.

    • Oversee the training, culture, and recruitment strategies of all needed Athens volunteers, counselors, and interns. 

    • Recruit and maintain a program pipeline of volunteers and interns, assisting in their development and creation of their esp experience. 

    • Serve as a contributing member for the overall esp Athens team, positioned as the team’s leader for all programs. 

  • Financial Management and Reporting

    • Manage the annual Athens programs budget, including budget reviews and audits.

    • Assist in annual programs budget creation with the guidance of the Executive Director.

  • Program Planning and Evaluation

    • Plan, implement, and evaluate annual programs.

    • Use data to assess program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.

    • Lead completion of esp Athens program goals.

    • Manage program metrics and scorecard.

    • Conduct audits of events and ensure adherence to esp Standards of Excellence for all programs. 

    • Create and maintain processes as needed to increase productivity and efficiency of program execution.

  • Community Engagement and Partnerships

    • Develop and maintain relationships with programmatic partners to enhance program objectives.

    • Recruit and develop volunteers, counselors, and interns to support program needs.

    • Act as a connector to families, representing their voices in programmatic decisions.

Job Expectations

  • Typical Fall and Spring hours are 9 AM - 5:30 PM

    • Additionally, some programs are scheduled monthly on evenings and weekends and require attendance of the Program Manager

  • Summer camp hours are 7 am - 4:30 pm

  • While not frequent, emergency family support situations may require after-hours communication with families

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification

  • 3+ years of experience with at least 2+ years of experience in a supervisory role

  • Experience working with people with disabilities

  • Program experience preferred

  • Camp experience preferred

  • Reports To: Athens Executive Director

  • Manages: Athens Hooray Camps Coordinator, Athens 360 Coordinator, and Athens Family Support Coordinator

  • Location: Watkinsville, Georgia
