The University of California Office of the President is the headquarters to the 10 campuses, six academic medical centers and three national laboratories and enrolls premier students from California, the nation and the world. Department Overview 55% Data, Policy, and Strategy Analysis: Interprets, researches, gathers, analyzes, and summarizes information for complex data projects related to K-12 educator preparation and professional learning, student academic preparation, strategic partnerships and diversity, equity and inclusion issues and trends. Conducts complex analysis including individual-level records of program participants, UC corporate student files, UC personnel data warehouses, degree/credential outcomes, student/participant experience surveys, and external data sources such as the College Board and National Student Clearinghouse. Creates Tableau online data visualizations, infographics and dashboards from multiple data sources. Distills key trends and policies through ongoing environmental scanning of educator preparation efforts at other institutions across the state and the nation. Works cooperatively with campus staff, program practitioners, and other data and policy analysts in the unit and other UCOP offices in the interpretation of data and presentation of results and findings. Uses data to recommend strategies and efforts to advance the University's educator preparation and educational equity goals and metrics. 35% Communications: Develops frequent high-level reports and analytics for senior leadership including executive briefs, white papers, and Regents' items for senior leadership. Works closely with program leaders to develop program highlights analytics including infographics. Devises surveys to evaluate program outcomes. Researches and summarizes best practices in the field with a focus on those relevant to effective teaching and learning. Prepares regular and ad-hoc briefings for management, senior leaders, and the Regents on topics including, but not limited to, educator preparation, school leadership, and campus diversity and inclusion initiatives. Drafts correspondence, reports, executive summaries, memos, briefs, fact sheets, Regents' items, speeches and talking points to communicate findings and recommendations. Responds rapidly to requests and inquiries from internal and external stakeholders. Conducts presentations on UC's educator preparation programs with various audiences. Synthesizes research findings on educational policy, data, and research as related to goals and strategies of the unit, department, and division. Conducts information webinars on data and policy. 10% OTHER DUTIES: Assists with the planning and coordination of unit-sponsored projects and events as needed. Attends classes, seminars and conferences that enhance professional expertise and foster managerial competency. Participates in activities that enhance the UC community and support the university mission.
