We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Journeyman Tool Maker. We are a diverse team of collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers who are relentlessly committed to a culture of safety. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. As a Journeyman Tool Maker you will support the design, development and fabrication of production tooling and components to support human spaceflight programs. This is a hands-on position that requires strong communication, organization, and technical skills that will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and quality of our production support. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.     Responsibilities:

    • Manufacture, and repair precision tools, and fixtures using various machines and equipment.
    • Successfully create parts from a blueprint, manufacturing operations, tooling instructions, or engineering instruction.
    • Perform precision machining operations, such as milling, grinding, and turning, to achieve tight tolerances.
    • Experience with CAD/CAM Fusion 360
    • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to provide technical support and optimize tooling for production processes.
    • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and 5S standards.
    • Performs routine preventative maintenance on all machines and other routine labor work as required in accordance with production flow.
    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Ability and willingness to work any shift as required by business need.
    • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion.
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

    Desired:

    • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program in tool and die making.
    • Journeyman Tool Maker certification, military technical training, or equivalent experience.
    • Proficiency in operating a variety of machining equipment, including lathes, and Proto Trak RMX, KMX milling machines.
    • Haas/ Fanuc control experience. To include programing and set-up.
    • The ability to learn corrective repairs on a variety of complex and noncomplex Mechanical & Electrical equipment with minimal supervision.
    • Be able to use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
    • Experience operating fork trucks, scissor lifts, high reaches, and other powered industrial vehicles.
    • Understanding of best practices related to 5S incorporation and to FOD elimination.
    • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
