Essential Functions/Responsibilities: The Operations Manager (OM) energizes and motivates a team of production employees. As a team their responsibility is to work safely, focus on quality and cost, improve cycle time, and meet production goals. Operations Manager will support the Gulf Plants Manager & Gulf Plant Operations Manager to foster a compliance-based culture with outside regulatory agencies, and within Veolia itself while serving as a driving force for the EHS program. The Operations Manager is the visible and active leader of the facility, promoting a favourable and productive environment for all employees. In addition, the Operations Manager will hold the following responsibilities:
Qualifications/Requirements: Highly desirable bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Business with minimum of 2 year of experience in a manufacturing/services environment leading a team of 20 hourly staff. Considerations will be made for applicates without a degree who have Extensive experience with Similar Product lines and numerous years of frontline leadership responsibilities. Desired Characteristics: Hard skills Demonstrated project management skills Prior experience in plant management (nice to have) Ability to apply statistical methods for process improvement Knowledge of the disciplines of manufacturing management such as production and inventory control, variable cost productivity, and fulfilment metrics, quality systems, cost systems, and fulfilment metrics, and procedures Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications, specifically Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, & Work A keen understanding of SAP / Proven ability to learn SAP (nice to have) Awareness of Lean Manufacturing process, Six Sigma & /or Kaizen Knowledge of ISO 9001 QMS (nice to have) Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, & other governmental regulations (nice to have) Experience and/or Knowledge of water treatment processes such as deionization, softening, reverse osmosis & de-oxygenation (nice to have) Bilingual English Spanish (nice to have) Soft skills Strong oral & written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills & awareness Demonstrated leadership skills Strong organizational and analytical skills Demonstrated teamwork skills Ability to lead teams through example Sense of urgency Accountable Clear thinker Creative and autonomous Ability to interact well with others at various levels within the organization and to work within a highly matrixed business environment Desire to work for a company with a proven track record for career opportunities & advancement.
