Join an interdisciplinary team in Apple's Core OS group working across the entire system, from the kernel up through libraries, frameworks, and applications. As an engineer you will have a major impact on the design and implementation of Apple's embedded and desktop operating system products, collaborating closely with experts throughout Apple's software and hardware organizations. You'll work with some of the most talented engineers in the industry. We are looking for a candidate who wants to be challenged and is passionate about working on products that affect the lives of millions of users.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience with system programming.
  • Experience with kernel and/or device driver development
  • Understanding of OS internals and memory management.
  • Knowledge of CPUs and/or GPU architectures.
  • Understanding of virtualization technologies - CPU/GPU virtualization or device emulation
  • Experience working with assembly languages
  • Highly focused, with the ability to deliver solid work on tight schedules
  • Excellent collaborative skills, with strong written and verbal communication
  • Excellent C and C++ programming skills
  • Experience with Objective-C or Swift a plus


Description

Hardware virtualization is core foundational technology. You'll be implementing new virtual machine and virtual device capabilities across the stack from guest to host.

Education & Experience

BS or higher in Computer Science/Computer Engineering

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900.00 and $256,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
