The Audio and Media Technologies (AMT) Team is at the heart of these audio experiences and creates the audio infrastructure and software targeted to take advantage of Audio IP resident in our custom Apple Silicon chip technology. Our Apple Silicon technology enables studio-quality DSP and Spatial Audio processing to ensure industry-leading fidelity and performance whether you're phoning a friend on your iPhone, playing a game on an iPad, or recording your next hit single on your Mac. We are looking for an experienced Engineering Program Manager who is passionate about audio and seeks to help deliver the next generation of audio experiences to Apple customers around the world. The right candidate will have extensive experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring that new designs are properly documented, scoped, tracked, and supported from inception to completion on a wide range of products. You will be working closely with engineers, designers and management to ensure the requirements of the project are being met and delivered on time. Your role will give you exposure to the entire Apple Silicon development process, from specs. simulation, validation, tape out, driver development and post-silicon bringup and debug on your way to final product release.

Key Qualifications

  • Excellent technical leadership and project management skills.
  • Proven exposure to and familiarity with silicon chip technology.
  • Familiarity with or a passion for digital and analog audio technology and products.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and context switch with ease in a fast-paced engineering environment.
  • Comfortable scaling from in-the-moment technical details to multi-year long-term planning.
  • Able to establish and grow quality, trust-based relationships with your engineering partners, software developers, and EPM colleagues.
  • Ability to lead projects and teams with confidence and ease.
  • Experienced in presentations ranging from weekly Team meetings to Executive-level reviews.
  • An innate desire to grow, learn, and continually improve processes, methodologies, and adopt new tools and techniques to further Apple's quest to deliver superior audio features to market.


Description

In this role, you will be part of the Software Engineering organization program office, but be focussed on the day-to-day activities associated with the pre-silicon development process. You will collaborate closely with several different engineering managers and support them in the specification, validation, and software development activities associated with the audio technology delivered in future system-on-chip and peripheral silicon audio devices. Typical responsibilities include the following: - Development and management of project schedules and deliverables, along with managing the associated task backlog as part of a comprehensive project plan to ensure all tasks are addressed in the committed timeframe. - Driving regular team meetings to focus on team tasks, working with managers and software developers to identify and resolve technical issues, involving multi-functional stake-holders as required. - Representing the team and its accomplishments in large cross-functional status meetings and executive reviews, including quality-focussed task and project reviews.

Education & Experience

BS/MS (EE/CS/CE a plus)

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $132,300.00 and $241,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
