Shipping Traffic Coordinator

Arconic is currently in search of a Shipping Traffic Coordinator to join our BCS Team in Springdale, Arkansas.

The position of Traffic Coordinator is responsible for selecting and the setting up of trucks utilizing the Best Transportation System. This includes, and is not limited to the following:

• Run and maintain shipping schedules.
• Form multi-drop shipments using the shipping schedule and matrix.
• Working with other departments to ensure that loads meet the committed shipping dates.
• Work with trucking companies to establish relationships that are good for both the company and the carrier.
• Schedule the loading of trailers.
• Work and communicate with customer service to meet customer needs and wants.
• Directing and scheduling the loading personnel
• Backup to department Supervisor during his/her absence.
• Backup to the Shipping Clerk
• Maintain OTIF and work with Production Control daily.

Requirements:

• Good computer skills a must (Microsoft word, excel, access).
• Knowledge of JDE and showcase queries a plus.
• Possess good people skills.
• Good communication skills both written and verbal.
• Work extended hours and weekends.
• Due to production schedule, will be required to work extended hours at the end of the month.
• Team oriented.
• Knowledge of load planning and trucking (LTL and Dedicated) a plus.
• Must be customer driven and yet still be able to balance the company goals and objectives against the customer needs.
• Possess a high degree of enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
• Must be a self-starter and highly motivated.
• Must be results oriented with a high level of work intensity.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
