Job Description and Duties
Under the general supervision of the Correctional Case Records Supervisor, the Correctional Case Records Analyst is responsible for calculating and modifying incarcerated persons release and discharge dates, applying credits, enhancements, work credits, policies, and procedures to ensure that incarcerated persons are confined and paroled from prison in compliance with existing laws, new legislation, and imposed sentences. This includes interpretation of appropriate laws and legal documents, researching complex legal directives, as well as processing, maintaining, and controlling incarcerated person/parolee records, and acting as liaison with other units, institutions and agencies. As necessary, the Correctional Case Records Analyst may act as lead person over other Records Office staff.

California State Prison-Sacramento is a high security male institution located in Folsom, CA. Employees may regularly be required to be in close vicinity of incarcerated persons and may visit various areas within the secured housing units.

Correctional Case Records Analyst (CCRA)

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If it is determined an applicant does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position. Candidates who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board.

Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.

Individuals who are currently in the classification, eligible for lateral transfer, eligible for reinstatement, have list eligibility, are in the process of obtaining list eligibility, or have SROA and/or Surplus eligibility (please attach your letter, if available). SROA and Surplus candidates are given priority; therefore, individuals with other eligibility may be considered in the event no SROA or Surplus candidates apply. Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).
