Pay Rate:$17.82- $19.74

Job Description

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for understanding braiding Especs and loading procedures of the braider.
  2. Responsible for checking braiding job for proper lengths, sizes and description against Especs and job numbers.
  3. Responsible for assembling all necessary items associated with each braiding job.
  4. Responsible to observe Southwire safety rules, maintain good housekeeping, and perform all other duties as assigned.
PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Must be able to read and comprehend production orders.
  2. Judgment concerning quality of wire is encountered.
  3. Must be able to work well with others
  4. Operator should be in good physical condition.
  5. Operator must be able to follow instructions.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  1. Somewhat disagreeable working conditions, in that the operator is exposed to heat, cold, and water.
  2. Surrounding equipment is somewhat noisy and hearing protection is required.
  3. Operator is constantly walking, climbing, bending and pushing. Rolling and set-up of reels requiring a force of 50 pounds is required.

ENVIROMENTAL/SAFETY/QUALITY

  1. Follow all company environmental rules/ procedures, and handle all materials in a manner designed to minimize environmental impact.
  2. Follow prescribed safety rules/ procedures so as to prevent injury to self and others and to maintain safe equipment and conditions in entire area of responsibility.
  3. Seek the assistance and advice of safety representatives on matters concerning safe practices, policies, and or procedures and give personal support to all safety activities and procedures.
  4. Use the company's ISO Quality System documentation to help guide all daily quality activities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. High school diploma, or equivalent is required.
  2. Must be able to read and write. Arithmetic encountered is addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, division, and decimals.
  3. Operator should be able to perform satisfactorily in six to eight weeks.
