BASIC PURPOSE

The primary function of the Sales Associate IV is to assist The Salvation Army in the operation of the Thrift Store for the Reno Adult Rehabilitation Program. This position description is a broad outline of responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Duties as assigned by the Store Manager or Assistant Manager including stocking, cleaning, ragging out goods, operating the cash register and preparing daily paperwork.
  2. Maintain good customer relations. Provide prompt, courteous assistance to all customers.
  3. Answer the telephone in a courteous fashion and direct callers to appropriate individual/department.
  4. Ensure the store's appearance is clean and orderly.
  5. Responsible for janitorial duties such as cleaning windows, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, etc. as assigned by management.
  6. All other duties as assigned by supervisor.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS



  1. Must be able to handle cash, make change and operate the cash register.
  2. Follow instructions without direct supervision.
  3. Merchandise knowledge preferred.
  4. Good customer rapport.
  5. Strong ability to utilize high levels of time management and multitasking.
  6. Previous retail experience a plus.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  1. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
  2. Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects
  3. Ability to reach overhead
  4. Ability to operate telephone
  5. Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds non-continuously
  6. Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information
