  • What You'll Do/ A Day In The Life Typically Includes




Move around Packing Team Members to meet the needs of the generating shipping documentation for all containers that come into the department. Check PayCom to ensure clock-in and clock-out requirements are met. Lead Clerk will complete daily hour forecasts for Packing and Small Pack. If there are errors in packing and processing, the Lead Clerk must rectify all errors and exceptions. Lead Clerk works closely with Sortation and Shipping departments in order to create an even workflow that moves uninterrupted through the three departments. The Lead holds daily start-up meetings for the department to convey the forecast to the team. Daily audits are done by the Lead Clerk to check for quality and address results with Supervisor and the entire TEAM. It is the Lead Clerks responsibility to manage hours in the Packing department to reduce inefficiencies.




  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities





  • Assigns work to meet productivity standards and service level agreements (SLA).



  • Completes Daily Forecasts.



  • Performs assorted administrative duties including carton inventory, production tracking, quality auditing, and researching and rectifying problem packages.



  • Operates equipment including computer terminals, printers, dunnage machines, case sealers, and pallet jacks.





  • Accepts increased decision-making responsibility in supervisor's absence.





  • Work Environment




The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.




  • Physical Demands




While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to talk, hear, and lift/move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision requirements include distance and close vision.

Qualifications


  • Required Skills & Experience





  • High school graduate or equivalent and one to three years experience.



  • PC, Exeter, and SOP system skills. Knowledge of power equipment operations.



  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively to customers or employees.





  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.



  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
