Responsibilities

Foundations Behavioral Health provides innovative behavioral health treatment and academic excellence to children, adolescents and young adults with mental illness, autism spectrum disorder, and/or intellectual disabilities. We are currently seeking a part time Expressive Arts Therapist (20 hrs per week) for our Doylestown Campus.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide group therapy interventions to children and adolescents in inpatient and residential treatment programs
  • Perform Biopsychosocial assessments that result in a broad picture of treatment needs, and aid in the development a multidisciplinary treatment plan
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary treatment team to develop individualized engagement plans focused on increasing group attendance

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Expressive Arts Therapy field including music therapy, art therapy, dance movement therapy, or recreational therapy from accredited college or university
  • Completion of a supervised clinical experience, preferably as part of the degree program, comprising a minimum of 200 hours.
  • Two years' experience with child/adolescent mental health clients in an inpatient or residential setting preferred, but not required.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient with a computer and the required software programs as applicable to the job functions, including electronic mail, word processing, excel, and various databases
  • Willingness to learn the hospital documentation standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of performing written or typed record keeping and correspondence as it relates to job functions
  • Capable of rapport building with children and adolescents to facilitate their engagement in the therapeutic services
  • Familiarity with generally accepted concepts, techniques, and procedures of therapeutic group interventions
  • An availability to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Willingness to conduct self with professionalism and demonstrate excellent customer service when interacting with others
  • Must be skilled in assuring that interventions are developmentally appropriate and trauma-informed, with careful consideration given to safety
  • Experience with Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, and Developmental Disabilities a plus!!
