DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision of a manager, and in conjunction with information services, responsible for the operational administration and network management of all cardiology servers and workstations, spanning multiple locations including remote sites. Duties encompass daily system monitoring, storage media management, user management, network management, quality control and performance monitoring, study monitoring, and patient information management in both onsite and remote settings. This role involves troubleshooting technical issues related to connectivity, equipment, and network infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation across all locations.

Additionally, responsibilities include training for new and ongoing users, security management, and the development and monitoring of policies and procedures. Develops and implements contingency plans for system downtime, with a focus on remote site resilience. Identifies opportunities for system improvements and cost savings. Participates in problem management support and resolution for clinical systems, addressing challenges both onsite and remotely.Acts as the primary liaison between cardiology information systems and other departments within the Medical Center, facilitating communication and collaboration. Provides in-services, training, direction, hardware installation, troubleshooting, support, and mentoring to others, including remote staff, as needed. Fosters a creative and quality-conscious work environment conducive to remote collaboration and problem-solving. Performs other related duties as assigned, adapting to the evolving needs of multiple remote and onsite locations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's in computer science, Information technology, or related field.

  • Five years clinical information systems experience OR 3 years clinical information systems experience and masters in computer science, information technology, or other related field.

  • Must possess the skills, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.

  • Proven success with information systems implementation, development, problem-solving, and support within a large-scale organization.

  • Experience implementing VMware systems (ESXi Server, vSphere)

  • Recent experience with DICOM and HL7 protocols.

  • Fluency with SQL queries (able to read and write complex SQL queries)

  • Experience with SSMS (or similar tools)

  • Proficient with Database Administration

  • Proven ability to write scripts for process automation

  • Proficient in MS Excel and data presentation.

  • Secure handling of sensitive data (PHI)/knowledgeable of HIPPA

  • Basic knowledge of network and systems administration and troubleshooting

  • Ability to travel to multiple locations, including remote sites, as necessary; valid driver's license and access to a vehicle may be required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience implementing and/or supporting cardiology systems, especially Siemens Cardiology products.

  • Experience as a Syngo Dynamics administrator

  • Experience implementing and supporting Cardiology PACS, Hemodynamics Systems, Ultrasound Echo Modalities, Clinical applications.

  • Basic knowledge of programming and software development cycle.

  • 2 plus years working in a large hospital system.

  • 2 years' experience in network administration

  • Experience implementing HL7 interfaces to/from multiple systems.

  • Proficiency with MS Office products. Excellent verbal, written communication skills, presentation and report writing

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

  • Required to be in on-call rotation of 24/7 once a month.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $82,500 - $151,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $39.51 - $72.56

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
