Job Summary: Prepares and paints walls and other surfaces of Palisades Tahoe Facilities and around the resort.

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following: other duties may be assigned:
  • Clean and prepare a job site
  • Apply paint, stain, varnish, enamel, and other finishes to exterior and interior walls using brushes, spray guns, or rollers
  • Read work orders or receive instructions from supervisors in order to determine work requirements
  • Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting
  • Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives
  • Remove fixtures such as pictures, door knobs, lamps, and electric switch covers prior to painting
  • Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, or using water and/or abrasive blasting
  • Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal, for finish coats
  • Smooth surfaces, using sandpaper, scrapers, brushes, steel wool, and/or sanding machines
  • Remove paint splatters when finished, clean up all equipment, including brushes and spray guns

Education and Experience:

Preferred:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous experience in painting indoor and outdoor surfaces
  • Ability to operate and use painting tools and equipment skillfully and safely
  • Good maintenance skills

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, and hear. Must be capable of walking or standing 90% or more of a normal 8 hour work shift. Must be capable of occasionally carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling up to 75lbs. Must be capable of occasionally squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching, and balancing, able to climb ladders and shovel snow. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Base hourly pay range: $20.54- $32.31 per hour

Working Conditions:

Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be exposed to outside weather conditions, mostly sun. The employee may be exposed to extreme cold, wetness and/or humidity, and occasionally blizzards and extreme storm conditions.

Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate.

Equipment Used in Job: Paint, stain, mineral spirits, cleaning supplies, painting supplies, brushes, rollers, tarps, ladders, hand tools.
