The Role

Drives company truck to deliver produce to customers on an assigned route. Assist warehouse in storing incoming produce, returning produce to coolers, fuels trucks/vans and trailer refrigeration unit, inspect equipment, load, unload trailer, and breakdown pallets of produce. Fill out and complete required paperwork in a timely manner.

Essential Responsibilities Include, but Not Limited To

* Meets with dispatcher for route and product information (manifest) for days deliveries.
* Completes visual and hands on inspection of delivery vehicle (Box truck/Sprinter Van). Checks vehicle oil and water levels, tires, blinkers, leaf springs, horn, headlights, and flashers for proper operation
* Loads hand truck in box truck or van. Notifies dispatcher of departure time and first stop
* Drives to customer location, checks in with customer and drops product off and obtains necessary signatures and payment if needed.
* Maintains effective product communications with customer and warehouse order selector team.
* Has knowledge of product line, prices, delivery time, promotional services, and similar data, as required
* Receives signature on invoice. Loads any returns on truck/van. Drives to next stop.
* At end of shift, returns paperwork to dispatcher. Off loads any returned product and returns hand truck.
* This position shares responsibility for ensuring the overall product safety at Charlie's Produce.
* Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience

* Must have a valid Class D Driver's License
* Provide at least five (5) year Driving Record from the DMV
* Valid Medical Card and endorsements
* Pass pre-employment drug test, criminal background check, and reference check
* Ability to work in a refrigerated environment
* Work an electric/manual pallet jack
* Excellent customer service and communication skills

Supplemental Information
