Quality of Life Recreation Tech

The vision of Marrakech Inc. is that each person we serve will live and work in the community and be accepted by their neighbors, co-workers, family, friends and acquaintances for their individual qualities and contributions.

The Quality-of-Life Person Centered Recreation Tech will work in collaboration with each individual and team along with other community organizations in order to support full community integration through support groups, volunteer opportunities, community advocacy, education, leisure pursuits, religious and social events.

• Research and develop meaningful, empowering, inclusive recreational activities both at program sites and in the community.
• Incorporate individual choice activities into the monthly Person-Centered Quality of Life calendar.
• Serves as a provider of weekday and weekend recreational activities.
• Organize and facilitate multiple special events such as the Camp Harkness weekend (must stay overnight), Quassy Park event, Ball and Holiday party.
• Coach various sports at all Special Olympic practices and attend all tournaments.
• Strong written, verbal communication and organizational skills required.
• Travel across the state to attend events

Requirement

- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, Adapted Physical Education, Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or related field or Associates degree in Special Education, Art Therapy or related field preferred. At least one year of experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities and other disabilities and their families in a community based recreational, residential, day or employment program.
