STATIONARY ENGINEER (CORRECTIONAL FACILITY) $37.51 - $7,913.00 per Hour Final Filing Date: Job Description and Duties
Under the general direction of the Chief Engineer, the Stationary Engineer, C.F. shall supervise, instruct, lead and work with a crew of inmates engaged in operating maintaining and repairing heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems. Maintains and repairs pumps, valves, appurtenance and piping used in the distribution of steam and heated processed water, refrigeration compressors, condensers and pneumatic devices. Repairs and maintains all types of motors used to power pumps, compressors and fans, single phase and multi-phase electrical circuits. Inspects and trouble shoots electrical and mechanical systems and equipment to identify repairs needed. Prepares costs estimate for stores, supplies, and equipment. Keeps records and makes reports.
Maintains order and supervises the conduct of persons committed to the Department of Corrections. Prevents escapes and injury by these persons to themselves or other or to state property, Inspects premises and searches for contraband Training and Development may be considered, must indicate on application.
