General Information:

James Madison University, a Division I Member of the NCAA and Sun Belt Conference, is seeking a Director of On-Campus Recruiting in the Football Program. This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
* Coordinate and manage all on-campus official and unofficial recruiting visits, including game day visits by prospects student-athletes (high school, 2-year, 4-years, post-grad., etc.)
* Coordinate recruiting correspondence with prospective student-athletes, high school coaches, junior college coaches and other appropriate entities/parties
* Assist with and/or develops/maintains prospective student-athlete databases

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
* Coordinate the collection of transcripts (high school, prep, junior college, college, etc.) for all possible prospective student-athletes and file them in the appropriate databases
* Oversee preliminary academic evaluations of prospective student-athletes
* Assist with the admissions and on-boarding process of signed prospective student-athletes (work in conjunction with compliance, admissions, and academics to ensure prospect meets University and NCAA admission standards)
* Assist in the On-Boarding/Move-In prospect of prospective student-athletes

Other Duties
* Assist with other duties/projects as assigned/directed by the Head Coach, Senior Director, Director of Football Operations, Director of Player Personnel, and Recruiting Coordinator
* Cultivate, lead, and manage student workers for the recruiting department
* Build quality relationships and work collaboratively and professionally with University and Athletics staff, students, and all constituents and stakeholders
* Foster and maintain positive relationships with prospective student-athletes, their families/guests, high school coaches to assist in the process of evaluating prospective student-athletes

Compliance
* Maintain a thorough knowledge of and adheres to all applicable NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations
* Perform duties with professional conduct representing the university and athletics department and provide leadership cultivating an environment of compliance, performance excellence, respect, and student-athlete well-being
* Maintain compliance logs related to prospective student-athletes unofficial & official visits
* Work with coaches to get admissions applications returned and NCAA Eligibility Center certification completed in a timely manner

Qualifications:

Previous Experience Working in Division 1 Athletics
Previous Experience in Recruiting Operations Football at the FBS or FCS Level
Thorough Understanding of NCAA, Conference and University Rules and Regulations
Bachelor's Degree
Experience Working with Student-Athletes with Diverse Backgrounds
