Job Summary:

The Operations Supervisor plans, schedules and monitors inbound movement of materials from suppliers. They also oversee all management duties related to WMS, shipping, receiving, purchasing and allocation of goods to all jobs. Provides leadership, direction, and support to the division purchasing, receiving, and warehouse function.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Determines material requirements and coordinates the efficient movement of materials to Division warehouse and production team.
  • Oversees, trains, and communicates all aspects and features of WMS.
  • Coordinates with other departments to ensure the timely flow of materials within an established timeframe.
  • Responsible for min/max inventory levels according to the season, usage trends and product availability
  • Works on distributor and manufacturer accountability, while maintaining an open and transparent relationship
  • Develops and maintains inventory templates for warehouse and other purchasing team members.
  • Ensures purchase orders requirements have been met.
  • Provides guidance and quantities to the purchasing team for all production related orders.
  • Oversees monthly inventory counts.
  • Maintains clean. Safe, efficient warehouse working environment.
  • Monitors vendor performance, making recommendations to improve vendor performance as needed.
  • Works with warehouse staff to reconcile receiving discrepancies.
  • Collaborates with other departments as needed.
  • Keeps Senior Management informed of activities and progress toward goals & objectives.
  • Establishes effective reporting and communication with designated team to ensure that they are appropriately informed of management expectations, polices, procedures and programs.
  • Completes required reports, accounting records and related documents promptly and accurately.
  • Effectively supervises warehouse, purchasing, and receiving team, ensuring staff are trained for optimal performance.
  • Leads and develops the Inventory team; maintains appropriate staffing levels.
  • Ensures that employees attend all required training.
  • Continually searches for ways to improve results and effectiveness.
  • Provides regular performance updates and recommendations to senior management.
  • Provides leadership to designated teams through effective objective setting, delegation, and communication based on direction from senior management.
  • Addresses issues of concern related to performance providing constructive and ongoing feedback and consequences if performance remains below standards.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of warehouse management experience
  • 3-5 years' experience leading successful, productive teams
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Intermediate computer skills and able to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Ability to manage projects and resources.
  • Must be able to communicate in English effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to work overtime with little notice; weekend hours may occasionally be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of purchasing management experience within a construction/HVAC environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift/move up to 20 pounds frequently.
  • Frequently performs tasks requiring bending at the waist, kneeling, or crouching.
  • Must be able to drive and operate a motorized passenger vehicle or forklift.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safet glasses, ear plugs, masks/respirators, reflective safety vests, gloves and safety toe, construction-grade work boots.
  • Must be able to adhere to long periods of standing, walking or sitting.
  • Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and/or other sounds to operate phones or other equipment safely.
  • With natural or corrected vision, able to see and focus for close, distance, peripheral vision with normal depth perception.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to others.
  • Ability to enter text or data into a computer by means of a traditional keyboard or 10-key numeric keypad.
  • Must be able to use arms and hands to reach overhead, signal, grab, hold, lift, turn, push and pull objects and tools.
