HR Generalist (Hybrid-Indy)

As a key individual contributor, the Human Resources Generalist supports associates and people leaders on Human Resource related issues. A successful Generalist will act as an associate and leader champion while also being a support resource to the internal customers.

The Generalist establishes partnerships across the HR function to deliver value added service to associates and management that reflect the business objectives of the organization.

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana. We are seeking candidates within approximately a 70 mile radius of our Corporate Office. Our Corporate Office (CO) is on the northwest side of Indianapolis.

Position is Hybrid, primarily remote with in-office days as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Attend weekly operational meetings to provide HR updates.
  • Provide support to management providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Support resolution of associate relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations with partnership of human resources management (HRM).
  • Reduce legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance by partnering with legal department as needed/required.
  • Provide day to day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counselling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Work closely with HRM alongside with management and associates to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
  • Provide HR Policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Partner with Talent Development to provide training updates and options for associates to attend for continued training and development.
  • Support general HR functions as needed through various projects & reporting as assigned based on business needs and requests
  • Work on other special projects as assigned in other parts of HR
  • All other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of two years of experience in human resources or a related field. More than two years preferred.
  • Two years experience in employee relations strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required
  • Workday HRIS experience is a plus
  • Ability to establish and manage relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to meet customer needs by critically listening and developing/recommending appropriate solutions
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Knowledge of HR trends and regulations
  • Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts, specifically related to associate relations issues
  • Ability to successfully work in high volume, sense of urgency situations
  • Proven ability to be flexible and interact with associates at all levels
  • High degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality

Education and Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience required. Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • PHR or SPHR preferred
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including associate employment relations, conflict resolution, compensation practices, recruitment, talent development, engagement, benefits, DEI, performance management, & federal and state respective employment laws.
