Compensation: $58,926 /yr (consideration for transferable experience relevant to the role)

Overview / Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of an instructor is to provide the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities. The instructor is responsible for performing assigned duties during the day, evening, or weekend on any Wichita State University Campus of Applied Sciences & Technology (WSU Tech) campus/off-campus locations as assigned.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:

  • Creates and/or uploads an appropriate course syllabus for each course to the Learning Management System.
  • Keeps students informed and updated concerning course content, requirements, evaluation procedures and attendance requirements.
  • Maintains accurate and complete scholastic records, including but not limited to course messaging in the LMS, grades, census rosters and attendance records.
  • Develops, revises, and/or recommends curriculum changes which meet the objectives of the course/program and improve student learning.
  • Ensures that each program/class meets the WSU Tech Course Standard, includes all appropriate curricular components, utilizes effective teaching methods/practices (pedagogy) and reflects current field practices.
  • Teaches and maintains an effective learning environment regardless of instructional modality (online, hybrid, or face to face).


The Faculty, Building Automation will handle classroom management, teaching and instruction, and programmatic and institutional engagement throughout the college.

Education:

  • Associate's degree in Building Automation, HVAC, or related discipline.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Siemens, Tracer, or other related systems
  • Experience with Data Analytics systems Power BI, Public Tableau, or other related systems
  • Previous teaching or training experience in adult education preferred
  • Must be available for required course assignments.


Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to use personal computer and software applications, strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
