NPI Mechanical Engineer

Working within Bio-Rad's Life Science Group R&D organization as an NPI Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll take engineering concepts and requirements and transform them into functional prototypes and finished products that improve healthcare outcomes for people around the world. Leveraging your knowledge of engineering principles and best practices, you'll have an active role in the development of new products. You'll also collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists, providing your technical knowledge and insights to ensure our products deliver the highest levels of quality and functionality.

How You'll Make An Impact:



  • Collaborate in the development of hardware products that advance healthcare research and treatments, leading to better outcomes and quality of life for millions.
  • Provide advanced data management techniques to guide development groups in order to achieve critical milestones in documentation and hardware related tasks.
  • Develop Assembly, Test and Installation procedures with collaboration of the design, manufacturing and service teams to ensure high level of process efficiency and safety.
  • Manage engineering prototype builds where resources and pre-planning clearly define roles and tasks to maintain project build schedules.


What You Bring:



  • Education: B.S. in mechanical, or electrical engineering.
  • 5 to 10 preferred years of experience in engineering design and testing.
  • 3 to 5 years experience with SAP related to engineering documentation and materials integration.
  • Experience in product development from the design concept phase into production that encompasses product BOM structure, design documentation, hardware specification, and assembly procedures.
  • 3 to 5 years experience with SolidWorks and its integration with SAP/PLM systems.
  • Strong Excel skill to manage advanced engineering data Dashboards for BOM development as well as materials and documentation tracking.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, excellent hands-on laboratory abilities, and an eagerness to make an immediate impact in a dynamic environment.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $130,200 to $179,100 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
