Responsibilities

The Information Technology/Operational Technology (IT/OT) Engineer will be responsible for managing IT/OT related projects in a heavy manufacturing environment, along with supporting the IT infrastructure of the organization, ensuring seamless operation and optimal performance. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in Windows Server technology, VMWare administration, PC troubleshooting, and basic Cisco network principles. This role serves as a bridge between the business unit/corporate IT organizations and the shop floor manufacturing controls environment. Additionally, the candidate should have demonstrable experience in integrating process manufacturing technologies within a Windows environment.

Responsibilities:

* Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, ensuring stability, security, and performance.
* Administer VMWare VMs and vCenter infrastructure, including provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
* Embrace a continuous learning to stay current with rapidly evolving technology and apply those learnings to bring value to the organization and achieve business goals.
* Leverage communication skills to effectively manage cross-discipline projects
* Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Windows PCs, resolving hardware and software issues promptly.
* Implement and maintain basic Cisco network principles, including routing, switching, and network security.
* Integrate process manufacturing technologies within a Windows environment, ensuring compatibility and efficiency.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement IT solutions that meet business requirements.
* Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in IT infrastructure management.

Qualifications

* High school diploma with commensurate experience.
* 2+ years or more of experience in the following: Windows Server management, managing VMWare VMs and vCenter, and troubleshooting Windows PCs.
* Strong familiarity with concepts and hardware related to PLCs, process control technology, and SCADA systems.
* Basic understanding of Cisco network principles.
* Demonstrable experience in integrating process manufacturing technologies. within a Windows environment, including Rockwell Automation, ABB.
* Passion to learn new technology and key aspects of a heavy manufacturing company.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Associates degree, trade school degree, or industry certification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
* Industry certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, VCP, or CCNA.
* Experience with process manufacturing systems such as SCADA, PLCs, Historian and MES.
