Job Description

Central Processing Technician | New York, NY

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are looking for a Central Processing Technician to join our Central Processing Department. In this role, you will assist in the decontamination of instruments, rigid scopes, and equipment to ensure sterility and safety for all patients within MSK.

Role Overview:

    Inspect and prepare surgical instruments and patient care equipment for cleaning and decontamination.
  • Follow accurate hand washing procedure as per infection control policy, while using personal protective equipment during decontamination tasks.
  • Utilize the instrument management system for the tracking, identification, and documentation of instruments during the tray assembly process.
  • Prioritize the assembly of trays and instruments to meet the needs of supported areas.
  • Use the instrument management system to accurately detail the distribution of trays and individual instruments during the case cart assembly and distribution process.
  • Perform manual documentation of tasks as required.

Key Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid CPD Certification required
  • Experience using Instrument Tracking System

Core Skills:

  • Shown knowledge of key sterilization techniques and an ability to ensure compliance with Hospital Infection Control policies
  • Working knowledge in the operation of all Hi-level disinfection equipment (i.e. AER, TEE Probe Reprocessor, and GUS machines).
  • Strong documentation skills and the ability to maintain an organized and clean workspace.

Additional Information:

  • Location: 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY
  • Shifts: 8-hour shifts; Monday through Friday, weekend and holiday rotation

Pay Range: $25.34-$38.16
