Minimum Qualifications
Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent oral and written communications

  • Excellent computer skills; familiar with Microsoft office suite and databases.
  • Previous experience in law- or law enforcement-related fields.
  • Completion of advanced Clery Act training
  • Attainment of the National Association of Clery Compliance Officers & Professionals (NACCOP) Clery Compliance Officer Certification.
  • Familiarization with Title IX
  • Five years or more of work experience with an institution of Higher Education.
  • Graduate degree in communications, criminal justice, law, or emergency management.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Public Safety, the Clery Act Compliance Officer works collaboratively with various offices at the University to facilitate the institution's compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and associated regulations.

  • Skill in analyzing organizational problems and identifying effective solutions.
  • Skill in expressing ideas and information clearly, concisely, and accurately, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to stimulate changes in individual, institutional, and corporate behaviors to create a more compliant environment.

  • Provide campus-wide leadership and serve as the University's subject-matter expert on the requirements and compliance with the Clery Act including the coordination, compilation, and submission of quarterly and annual reports to the University System of Georgia and U.S. Department of Education.

  • Coordinates the activities of a multidisciplinary Clery Act Committee, and related subsets, to ensure compliance with Clery Act classification, timely warning, and geography accuracy and requirements.
