In a nutshell - As a Software Engineer you will be joining a team of highly motivated developers working to transform Express Scripts Specialty technology. You'll be working in a fast paced agile environment; transforming and consolidating our legacy applications by developing software to support the organizational objectives.

  • Design and develop secure, reliable software solutions meeting the operational specifications. 
  • Work to develop skills, provides feedback to others, and collaborates in resolution of technical issues and complexities.
  • Triage, debug & monitor are all key activities for non-development environments.
  • Expectations include innovation and critical thinking leading to decision making driving towards efficient, simple solutions answering to complex business needs.
  • Ensures defects are quickly assessed and/or mitigated and resolved, whether in non-production or production. 


  • College degree in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven technical skills to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software collaborating with high talent teams in local and remote locations.
  • 4-6 years of experience in software development in high demand environments
  • Java and/or PEGA skills are necessary. If no PEGA experience, the candidate should be committed to learn and complete the PEGA certification within the first 6 months
  • Proven experience developing PL/SQL for large scale software applications
  • Passion for technology and a self-study
  • Familiarity with Agile principles and experience in scrum/Kanban environments are a definite plus
  • Strong debugging and problem solving abilities
  • Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.

They also manage all centralized functions for quality assurance, release management and production support operations.
  • Home Delivery Home Delivery oversees application development strategy and execution, including business relationship management for all Home Delivery, Contact and Digital systems.
    Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) The PBM group is responsible for application design, development and strategy for all core PBM systems including Benefits & Eligibility, Clinical Programs, Coverage Review Determination, Supply Chain, Retail Networks, Client Data, Adjustments and Claims Adjudication. This team partners with Clinical Solutions, Client Services,
  • Supply Chain, Operations, Product and Account Management to bring innovative solutions and service to clients and patients.
  • Specialty The Specialty team manages application development, strategy and execution, and business relationship management for Specialty systems.
