The ALS Association | Diversity Employer

www.als.org/

Established in 1985, The ALS Association is the only national nonprofit organization fighting ALS on every front.  By leading the way in global research, providing assistance for people with ALS through a nationwide network of chapters, coordinating multidisciplinary care through certified clinical care centers, and fostering government partnerships, The Association builds hope and enhances quality of life while aggressively searching for new treatments and a cure.

As the preeminent ALS organization, The Association leads the way in research, care services, public education, and public policy — giving help and hope to those facing the disease.  The Association’s nationwide network of chapters provides comprehensive patient services and support to the ALS community. The mission of The ALS Association is to discover treatments and a cure for ALS, and to serve, advocate for, and empower people affected by ALS to live their lives to the fullest.

Create a world without ALS

Mission

To discover treatments and a cure for ALS, and to serve, advocate for, and empower people affected by ALS to live their lives to the fullest.

Guiding Principles are:

  • People with ALS and their families come first

  • Accountability and transparency
  • Diversity and inclusion
  • Open communication and dialogue
  • Innovation
  • Collaboration

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

The ALS Association is dedicated to cultivating an environment in which all voices are raised and heard as we serve, engage, advocate for, and empower people with ALS. We will maintain a community that resolves inequities that impede progress in the fight against ALS and ensures that our mission-driven work is informed by multiple perspectives and experiences.

Working at The ALS Association

The ALS Association is dedicated solely to the fight against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Our mission is to discover treatments and a cure for ALS, and to serve, advocate for, and empower people affected by ALS to live their lives to the fullest.

As the leading ALS organization, The Association pursues its goals through research, care services, advocacy, various development programs, and public information and education. The national organization is actively involved in funding and directing a global research program for a cure and for the introduction of new therapies that will significantly improve the quality of life for people with ALS.  The Association’s largest fundraiser, The Walk to Defeat ALS®, raises funds for care services programs, research and public policy efforts on the national, state and local level.
